My stamping friends know that I absolutely love butterflies! When I first saw the Swallowtail stamp in the Spring catalog I wondered how I would use this single stamp. Over the next few months I have seen some really beautiful cards created with this stamp, so of course I had to buy this stamp. The Swallowtail single stamp is the size of Stampin’ Up!’s other background stamps. It is available in wood mount (#129213 – $17.95) or clear mount (#129216 – $13.95). This image can be stamped in Jet Black StazOn and then water-colored, stamped in a single color to a give a tone on tone effect or stamped with versamark and then embossed with one of our wonderful embossing powders. The possibilities for cards featuring this stamp are endless.
The Swallowtail butterfly included on this card was stamped in Jet Black StazOn Ink on Shimmery White cardstock. I then water-colored the butterfly using an aqua painter and Melon Mambo Classic Ink. The Shimmery White cardstock is perfect for water-coloring and once your card is complete it has a really nice shimmer without the use of glitter. The “Oh Happy Day” greeting is included in the Bloomin’ Marvelous exclusive Sale-a-bration stamp set which is only available through Friday, March 22, 2013.
The supplies used on the cards include:
- Swallowtail Stamp – #129213-wood or #129216-clear
- Bloomin’ Marvelous Stamp Set (Sale-a-bration exclusive item) – #129651-wood or #129654-clear
